I have begun to think more creatively recently with regards to the names for my artworks. Sometimes simple titles work and are professional, recording sounds, the weather, the mood of the artist, the noises of life. I have learnt over the last few years that sometimes fun titles, that connect with those viewing the artwork, making you the customer smile, laugh, have a memory jogged, or provide a moment of deep contemplation is also what art is all about.
I have renamed a few of my paintings on more than one occasion, so please look at the image carefully, even if the name does not match what you thought it was. For example, ‘”Mischievious mackrel” was previously titled “Different directions” and “We’re all going on summer holiday” was previously titled “Passing by”. “Inky blue skies over Daymer”, became, (because the first title lacked the drama and intensity of the day), “The Anticipation”
